Introduction and welcome

Fantastic news! And something new for you…

Hi!

For those of you who don’t know me my name is Martin Allsop. After long and successful careers in personal development, business and consulting, I’ve now turned my attention to the Internet – and specifically to the exciting possibilities of Web 2.0.

So I set up an account on Facebook…

The great news is that my Facebook Friends group reached 5,000 - the maximum allowed - on Saturday last. And my total Facebook network

(including my groups) is now over 7,500

Let me confess that I didn’t expect this to be such a success quite so quickly – all it took was two months! That’s without importing any list or any friends from outside of Facebook.

And huge thanks go to all of you who were able to help me make it such a success.

So - to celebrate this achievement I’ve been planning something for you for a little while.

Because you keep asking me questions to find out what you need to do to succeed, I want to put this information in your hands.

And, so that I can help you in achieving your goals and dreams, I’ve decided to launch this e-zine.

This is the place to go and get interesting and useful information on social networking, internet marketing, personal development, NLP, Law of Attraction and much else besides.

You can find it all here at www.martinallsop.com

As you read every word I hope you learn and become inspired by many things including:

  • “Revealed! How the newbie can make money on the Internet” (article)

  • “Unlock the secret formula for Web 2.0 success” (article)

  • “Exposed! The groups you really shouldn’t join on Facebook!” (article)

  • Words of wisdom

  • Your questions answered

Here’s hoping you enjoy it and look forward to when you send me your feedback

Warm regards and thank you again

Martin

P.S. As my Friends list is now full, people want to know how to keep in touch with developments.

“Revealed! How the newbie can make money on the Internet”

by Martin Allsop

After you read this article you will begin to understand how anybody can make money on the Internet - something people have wanted to discover since the internet was born.

In the early days the porn industry cashed in. Then, suddenly everyone was booking a holiday, a train ticket, every type of “mail order” online. And E Bay was born.

The internet marketing gurus introduced info-products – downloadable e-books, e-courses, CD’s and DVD’s.

Loads of people wanted a piece of the action. And the gurus sold a whole range of “how to” info-products to the wannabes.

The problems of “list” and “traffic”

And yet the problem was - you needed traffic to really succeed. So you had to master the “black art” of Google, search engine optimisation and pay per click.

Or to make real money you needed a large “list” – a database of potential customers. And to avoid accusations of “spam” – unacceptable and in many cases illegal – you had to have “opt in” permission to email them.

It all seemed so complicated. The gurus had the big lists and were in the know. The little guy – the man or woman starting up - was on the outside, nose against the window.

Giving the little guy a real chance

Now a new phenomenon gives the little guy a real chance. The explosive growth of social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace – has given rise to Web 2.0.

Essentially, internet marketing old style was the internet equivalent of the newspaper ad. The seller placed the ad, the prospect read the copy and if motivated, filled in the coupon to buy.

Web 2.0 is different. It’s “two way”. Marketers and prospects select each other on the basis of “friend” or “contact” or “connection”. They examine each others profiles, see photos, get to discover the other person’s history, interests and tastes.

They network with each other, join special interest groups - even send each other virtual hugs and teddy bears!

Exploit this potential – it’s going global

Web 2.0 levels the playing field and a few smart marketers have spotted the potential early. It’s always been true that people like to do business with people they know, like and trust. That used to limit you to a certain circle in your own town.

Now it’s going global.
